Description

This tour provides a wonderful opportunity to see the co-existence of cattle and wildlife and learn a little history of ranching. This tour begins by traveling six miles south of Burns to visit Keith & Katie Baltzor’s commercial cattle ranch. Besides seeing multiple species of birds, learn about the tools of the trade, the seasons of ranching and challenges affecting the industry. Enjoy a homemade cinnamon roll before moving on to another cattle ranch in the valley.

The final stop is Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center, where a complete homemade lunch featuring beef tri-tip, salad, side dish, rolls & dessert provided by Harney County Cattlewomen. While enjoying a delicious lunch, local range scientists will present information on EOARC and some of the topics they research.

Transportation is provided, but you may bring your own car if you would prefer. Please signify which mode of transportation you will utilize on your registration.
