Join us for a fun, relaxing, social event with conversation and education. Share stories of your weekend with other festival goers and hear from keynote speaker Rebecca Heismen on her upcoming book, “Flight paths: Untold Stories from the History of Bird Migration Research”.

Heisman, author of the recent popular science book “Flight Paths: How a Passionate and Quirky Group of Pioneering Scientists Solved the Mystery of Bird Migration,” will talk about how her book came to be, share some of her favorite stories of forgotten and eccentric innovators in the history of bird migration research, and discuss the concept of “migratory connectivity” and how getting to an incredible level of detail in our understanding of the lives of migratory birds may be a key part of saving them in a changing world. 

 

Cost: $60 / per person (includes dinner and presentation); 120 people for dinner/presentation – NO tickets for presentation only

*This event will be supported by the Burns High School Key Club. Our local youth will be serving your meal and providing event courtesies as you wish. Tip jars will be available throughout the venue.
